Biography: She took Bollywood by a storm with the racy Khwahish in 2003. Since then, there has been no looking back for Mallika. Today she is  is widely considered as one of the most open sex symbols in the industry. The actress is known for her bold outfits and equally bold outbursts. She is on record as saying “I may not be here to titillate, but I am not sorry if I have that edge. People aren't coming to the theaters to see me in a burqa".

Mallika was an air-hostess before she made her Bollywood debut with Khwahish. She also made headlines when she landed herself a role in Jackie Chan’s The Myth. She is the first Indian woman to get an offer to pose nude for Playboy magazine.
